Feeling Discouraged =/

I love making videos and I enjoy meeting new people through YouTube. Lately though I've found it hard to enjoy the process of making videos. I feel like my channel is growing slowly and that people are only really watching my videos so I'll watch theirs. I know that people don't flock to your channel overnight, but I promote the crap out of my channel. Plus I've been on YouTube for almost three years now, and I've only reached 458 subscribers. Most people reach that point after only a year or so.

I just need to hear some encouraging words from people who have felt like this before. Or people who haven't. I just feel really discouraged.

I think sometimes we try too hard, when I dont try so hard and stress myself out I make better videos, so first you have to do it for fun, you get what I mean and when you have fun the videos will be better
so focus on enjoying it and not so much the pressure you are putting on yourself, Now im confused :unsure:I just watched one of my favorite videos called The Look and it made me happy it is frustrating that the whole world has not seen it,

Heya Anna.
You and I both.
I'm feeling the same way - I really love making videos and the creative process is so much fun, but really, in the end, there is an ego thing behind it and if people aren't watching it makes you feel like there isn't a point.
I also promote the crap out of my videos...facebook, twitter, tumblr, google plus, message boards, reddit, commenting on others' videos...there comes a point where it feels like you're talking to a brick wall.
I don't know what to tell you other than a) a break isn't always a bad thing, b)I really like your videos and c)I get it.

and when I said videos would be better I didnt mean your videos are bad I havent watched them dont misunderstand me, I am no expert on videos anyway just I think when your having fun you will work better so dont stress yourself too much if you are promoting to hard back off a bit.

I've been uploading sporadically for about a year. I have 120 subs and just over 6k views.
You are doing better than I am.
Don't sweat it, you got more peeps watching you than I do when we've both been on for about a year.
You're doing something right. I'm not.
I'm not bothered by it. I'm just an imperfect being talking to a camera like a nutcase :p

Yeah. I think everyone has felt this way at least once in their YouTube career. Sometimes more than once. At the end of the day, if you really love what you're doing, things like numbers and stats won't matter. Keep in mind that you do have people watching and enjoying your material.

You are doing fine :) Great Vlogs! What are your trying to accomplish from a vlogging channel? If you are just doing it because you love and enjoy it then keep doing what you are doing ! :) If you want huge channel growth and youtube money you need more. If you did your vlogs over the game of Minecraft then you would probably get a lot of subs and views. The only gaming channels I watch are basicaly Vlogs's over video gameplay.

I don't feel the same as you. I think we need clear goals. And then need to work hard to accomplish those goals. We make our own success :)

So true... There are so many sub niches though, it is crazy...
