Fan Funding Available to Everyone

I Love YTtalk
Apparently YouTube fan funding is available to all verified accounts now. A verified account just means you verified you phone number. I'm eligible for it and only have 30 subs and 4 videos that are all low budget with nothing expensive to produce. I'm not going to use it, to me it would just seem weird at this point considering my channel size. But what are your thoughts on YouTube fan funding being open to everyone now?

If you don't know what YouTube fan funding is, it is basically a donation button where people can give up to $500 to support their favorite creator, when it was first rolled out you had to apply for it and I think you needed 10,000 subs. To learn more about YouTube fan funding just google it or search yttalk where there is a detailed thread about it.

Note: I don't know if this is available in countries. But all verified accounts in US are eligible at least it appears that way. To see if you are eligible for fan funding, login to your account and go to YouTube.com/features and scroll down to the bottom. If you live in a country besides the US let me know if you are eligible, I'm curious what countries.

Edit/Update: Here the official requirements for Fan Funding copy and pasted from Google:

I enabled it a while back, no one donated a single dollar though haha! Oh well, I think it's a fun option and I am not forcing anyone to donate or something. I hope other countries will be able to donate aswell soon!

why have a donation on it when we can just ask it in patreon. good job google you miss your chance at being the first at something.

I definitely wouldn't consider that as being available to everyone so what has changed? It was only open to those countries when they announced it a few weeks ago anyway.

The United States is everyone. We make up the entire population. It's not called planet earth, it's called The USA.

Heh... Well hey. I guess it makes things a little easier for people now? Instead of linking up a Paypal or whatever for donations, now more people have the freedom to do this.
