I haven't even started learning any type of advanced editing so I don't know the excruciating details, but it seems like at least you've learned what NOT to do next time you want to do cloning. Mistakes might not be the only way to learn but I guess sometimes they are the best way
Keep them apart from each other and it's not so bad. Just keep the lighting consistent and it's pretty convincing. The hard part is probably dialogue if you want to make it sound real and if there's a lot of back and forth before cutting.I want to do clones some day, but then I kind of get scared of all this stuff you have to do.
One clone punching another would be something for wheezywaiter, now he got a clone machine. LOLAhhhhh. Okay, yeah, you're talking frame-by-frame garbage masking for something like that. Suicide would be preferable.[DOUBLEPOST=1370406682,1370406620][/DOUBLEPOST]
Pfffft, it's not so bad. I'm about six hours in, including writing, and all I have left is some audio to record
Just don't have one clone punch another clone in the face, and you're good![]()

yea..we actually abandoned making videos in general from 06 till 08..we made one video in 08..then stopped making videos again until 2012. even this time around.. none of the original videos we shot and promised when we got back in to it last year saw the light of day...some of the footage got lost..and some of it we just were not happy with once it came down to editing it!Punching actually isn't too bad. It's just when clones overlap that gets hard.[DOUBLEPOST=1370407129,1370406984][/DOUBLEPOST]
I would save the footage though. Keep in mind that you can change masking styles mid-shot. So provided overlap is over a relatively short period of time, it's not as huge of a pain as it might otherwise seem.
ahh that sucks dudeyea..we actually abandoned making videos in general from 06 till 08..we made one video in 08..then stopped making videos again until 2012. even this time around.. none of the original videos we shot and promised when we got back in to it last year saw the light of day...some of the footage got lost..and some of it we just were not happy with once it came down to editing it!
One saving grace was that I was shooting with two cameras cuz I wanted to try jump cutting back and forth from different angles. Maybe if I tried harder I can actually keep this video. The general consensus seems to be, don't wussy out haha.[DOUBLEPOST=1370407703][/DOUBLEPOST]
I think that's the worst, when everything seems fine up until the final edit. Some projects in my mind seem too ambitious sometimes.
