Hey everyone!

Let me take a moment and talk about Facebook for a second and how very important it is. Now me personally, I don't share my videos on Facebook YET, and the reason is I don't want people at school knowing that I make videos yet. However if I did share my videos on Facebook I can almost guarantee I would get over 500 subs.

Heres why:

When you share a video on Facebook (Not necessarily on your Facebook page you've made for your channel) but on your personal account, all of your friends and family sees it. Let's say Bob watches the video and likes the video from Facebook, to Bob's friends all his Facebook friends will see that he liked the video. Now think about your family members for a moment, think about how supportive they are... Now imagine if they found out you make YouTube videos. They would share your videos around and boast them, getting you countless new fans and audiences.

Facebook is a powerful tool, use it for yourself, and use it to support other Youtubers. (Speaking of which you should totally check out my latest video and share that on Facebook :D)

I hope this helps all of you. You may have already known this because it is pretty obvious, but many people do overlook it.

I totally agree! I've never put any of my videos on Facebook as I think it would make me feel slightly embarrassed but I guess I'm missing a trick from doing that. Having a Facebook page with little to no likes is like having your videos on the very top of a large hill and once someone pushes your video down the hill and into the news feed of their friends then your video is literally rolling. But that's what is hard about having a Facebook page - it's really hard to get started :/

You are damn right.

I didn't share my video on my private profile but if I do I know I have a lot of friends who would support me. So maybe it's the right time ;D

That is exactly it, but i'm not talking about the Facebook page, i'm talking more of the personal page you have for yourself. I feel the same man, gotta keep that reputation xD

Exactly man, friends and family are the best support you can get besides others.

I get kind of nervous about sharing some of my stuff on Facebook. I always kind Hold my breath and hope that everyone is nice haha

You should look back at some of my strategy posts... My way of using Facebook is way different than most people in here and it works. I post stuff to my own page and only have 725 subs or something like that on an 8 year old channel, so it's not really going to get you subs like you are describing. BUT I get lots of views using Facebook in other ways.

The way you are describing is nice in theory, but Facebook works a bit differently.

The newest updates on it pretty much says something like "the more you like/comment on someone's posts, the more you see those. If you don't like/comment on someone's posts very often, you will start seeing less of that friend's posts." I have about 800 friends on facebook, all of whom are friends, family, and real people I know and have met that I have worked with, etc. I don't see 800 profiles posing all day on my time line. Why? I don't go to each of those individuals' pages, profiles, etc to like their stuff therefore it doesn't show up.

However it definitely depends on content. If you're making gaming videos your family and friends may be LESS inclined to share it rather than if you made singing videos or skits etc. It just depends on the people.[DOUBLEPOST=1436672914,1436672899][/DOUBLEPOST]

Oh I didn't know that, thanks for letting me know!

Yeah I know it sucks. Now don't get me wrong, I have a thread here that details my struggle with telling family/friends about my videos, but now that I am I have seen some growth still. I just wanted to make sure you realize that 800 friends doesn't = 800 people seeing that facebook post by ANY means. Likely not even 400 people as many of my friends simply don't talk with me as much now like we used to.
