Facebook and Content ID

I Love YTtalk
You know you've seen it. YouTube videos being ripped and uploaded to Facebook. It pains me to see people growing huge Facebook Pages with stolen content. Well, it looks like Facebook is finally going to be addressing these issues.

The article explains how they tried to upload a song/video and it got caught. I hope that FB also implements flag features so that we can file claims when our videos and/or content is pirated.

Its a step in the right direction, I wonder if Facebook will allow people to monetise them in the future.

Hopefully not because that'll just give people more reasons to steal videos. And also the fact that no one has the attention span to watch an ad before a video on facebook.

I do not provide video content on Facebook. I do have a small biz page and a community but that is only to have some sort of engagement. Facebook puts ads in the side bar and they get all of the revenue.

If Facebook wants me to provide meaningful content, they will have to come up with some sort of revenue sharing program. I get about 2 million minutes a day on my channel. I'm sure FB would like to have that sort of additional traffic as well in addition to the revenue sharing opportunities.

Sorry but that`s another of those Facebook Features that are as always as useless as the rest of it. The hole thing did only worked/got flagged/... since someone tried to upload some content that was already running with Facebook Video Partner Program otherwise Facebook as always wouldn`t give a damn about anyone else work if it doesn`t cost actually Facebook Money in the longer run.

If someone of you really believe that now everyone of you hard working YouTuber will suddenly get more Rights on Facebook please consider a reality check.

Sadly the article doesn`t state which Video was tried to upload on Facebook since otherwise everyone of you would realize that this hole Feature is again only for those that get invited by Facebook itself instead for everyone else and Facebook doesn`t have at all the Manpower to suddenly start having a Team that is dealing with the Reupload Crap that is going on since day one 24/7/365 on Facebook since they had added the Video Feature.

TLTR:

At some point I kinda gave up to report reuploaded Videos since Facebook often doesn`t even replay for months if you are not their...and excuse me please my wording...cash cow. This feature is nothing more then again protect the interests of Facebook and not of the Content Creators.

If Facebook doesn't implement features which protect digital rights, they are opening themselves up to lawsuits.

I look forward to when it gets to the point where creators can get protection for their content.

We did sue Facebook (crowd4privacy.org) and their first reponse after a couple of months was when they realize that we won`t back down to try to hire actually our lawyer and asked him in return to drop the case.

Sorry when I might burst your Facebook is super nice to Content Creator bubble but Facebook doesn`t give a single s**t about about anyone even when they loose in front of the court again and again and it`s clear for everyone one both side that this will just keep going on till someone will run out of money.

Again it`s nothing against you since I know that you only did report about something new being done on Facebook but knowing what I know about Facebook I usually puke each time someone does believe that Facebook would actually do something for Creators that would help them to increase their privacy or make it easier to actually protect their Content.

TLTR:

Facebook does only do what does help Facebook to earn more money or monetize you even more then it is happening already at the current point and this won`t change till someone will finally make sure that they know that they can`t do it without consequences.

I know the evils of Facebook. We're on the same page. I'm just glad to see some movement towards protecting rights.
