Face cam vs no face cam

I would like to know your guesses opinion if you prefer someone having a face cam in there video or none. Me personally depends on the person or the game they are playing. What do you guys think?
 
More often than not I prefer no face cam. I don't know, I just usually don't like it being there. I feel like it takes away from what I actually want to see (gameplay). I get distracted easily, so having the person in the corner of the video making faces and whatnot messes with me. Lately Dashie has been using face cam for a lot of his gaming videos and I'm not really a fan of that.

In special cases though, I do enjoy face cam. Mainly scary gameplays and when it's a group of people playing a game. I've been watching through JD's Mario 3D World gameplay lately and it's hysterical watching him and Dave and all of them fighting and blaming each other and stuff. In that case, the face cam is awesome.

I totally agree with you, especially when someone is playing a horror game. Its so fun to watch someone react to whats going on.
 
A must 24/7. Video without a facecam is boring as heck as you can't see the emotion of the gamer. I don't watch many, but the ones I do always have facecam going in one of the corners!
 
I think its a matter of preference and is the content and commentary able to hold its own without a camera to add in filler. We decided against the camera on our channel, we did several test recordings with a camera and felt it took away more then it provided.
 
Depends on the game. Stuff like the FNAF series works so much better with facecame cause people like seeing the people freak out and scream. Games that require more concentration and don't really rely on facial reactions like say... an RPG game can just rely with off-camera witty commentary.
 
On my main channel, I put my face in the thumbnail, and have only ever done like 3 videos where my face is in it like facecam.
I personally don't feel like doing facecam.
I'm lazy, and prefer gaming in my PJs with my hair messy - I express myself better that way.
I do like watching people with them though but it can be distracting to watch them AND the content they upload, like gaming wise.
 
I have just started a gaming youtube channel and I'm currently not using one. I think this is more down to getting the hang of things first, then my face may be plastered on screen ha but I think it depends. As a lot of people have said it can take away from a video but can definetly add to it if the person has any funny reactions
