Well, what is the idea? I think what the video is going to be will ultimately determine whether or not you should take the risk. You could also put a little disclaimer in the beginning of the video, where you jokingly say something like, "Well guys, I thought I made this really unique video but it turns out {other youtuber} already did it... OH WELL! I got excited about it, so we're doing it."

That may not be your speech style, so you will most likely want to tweak it for your channel, but hopefully you get what I'm saying.

Well, if you had the idea before someone already made a video of it, just watch that video, and do it better. Don't use jokes, or things he used, just see what he screwed up in and do it better. It really depends on the idea. And gud clik bat 10/9 would click agen

Don't think of it as copying but rather inspiring you to try it with your own style!

Unless you are copying word from word what this person does in their video I wouldn't worry about it. Nobody owns a certain video type just because they did it first. Youtube would be pretty empty in that case. I had slight inspiration for my public transit video from Domics but I still have all my original points and ideas in it. GO FOR IT!
