EXTREME IDEA DILEMMA

Was that a good enough clickbait title? Haha, I hope so because I need some help!

So I had a really good idea for a video and thought, why not research it a little to see if someone has already done it. It seems like someone already has... and he is pretty famous already (around 330k subscribers). Other than him I don't think anyone really has done it...

So I was wondering, should I still do it with the possibility of being called a copycat or should I just forget about my idea...? I don't really want to change it since I like the idea...

Gosh why is this so hard...

Just do it. I mean, think about us gamers. Every game has already been LP'd by someone else. You just have to make it your own. And so many big youtubers copy each other. Markiplier did a video about how youtube has changed, and then someone else did (that bald guy who does weird top 10s, forget his name), and then I think someone else did too (yay memory!). A lot of rant videos get the same treatment.

Looks like you've got a great memory! But yeah... I didn't think about all the gamers on YouTube and stuff
 
Do it. Try and make it better than the one before. People don't have a copyright on ideas. I can't count how many times i've come up with ideas only to realize someone beat me to the punch. It sucks, but you can make it better or you can join me in the basement for a stiff drink and a good cry. Good luck!
 
Seems like my opinion is going to be similar to everyone else here, but I also think it's fine to go for it. If you feel nervous about it, you can acknowledge the fact that another YTer has done a video like this before.
 
Yeah, I think I'm just going to do it. I definitely don't want to copy others (and I never wanted to do that in the first place) but I think it can get really annoying when someone says: "ahhh you copied <insert big youtuber name>"... So yeah...
 
Don't worry about what other people think. As long as you didn't copy exactly how someone else has done it then no one can say anything about your video. Like others have said, pretty much everything has been done before in one way or another, what people want to see is a different take on it, with your own personality

Thank you for your opinion MyLifeMyWorld! I'm definitely going to create the video that I was talking about but it just takes a lot of time to get it perfect! But I'm definitely going to create it!
