Experiencing the stages of video editing

i think maybe its because you have to sit there and watch it over and over and over again while you edit it that you start to be like is this boring or is it because i've watched 100 times in a row haha
 
I go through the same kind of process but with extensive amounts of ice-cream consumption. I consume more ice-cream when I'm editing than I would otherwise in one year. It's funny that I actually dislike my videos when I'm done editing but I think mostly because I've seen it over and over again and it's become boring at that point lol. I kinda get nervous when uploading and start thinking that maybe it's not good enough or a particular edit/scene/part was lame. I'm like you though, when positive reviews come I'm like wow, I gotta do this again! aha
 
I have time to post a more serious comment. The problem I find, and most find is we are very critical of our work and are constantly critiquing what we do. The problem with video editing is your taking, what is essentially a mix bag of raw film, music, sfx etc which on their own don't amount to much and making something amazing from it.

Most of my films seem meh before I finish them because, well they aren't finished. Its only when I add a sound track and make tweaks it actually a finished product and looks great!

Everyone talks about the magic of film but its very tedious magic and its easy to get bored or loose interest but when you get to know what your capable of, I find it gets easier through the boring monotonous parts. If not, have a cookie!

I agree! Being a perfectionist makes me go back & fix it, no matter how long it takes ><
 
My editing emotions usually come in 4 stages:
1- Ugggh, I don't want to edit this...
2- (Starts editing) Wow! I'm excited! This looks really cool.
3- When is the video going to be over (this applies more on my music videos rather than my vlogs)
4- Whooo! I can see the home stretch!

Yeah, and when you have only 1MB/s upload like me and can't switch to a new faster service by a different provider before April 2015 :(
