Evolution of youtube

I've been active on and off youtube since early 2005, and since then seen countless changes to the site, my question to you is, what is your one favourite change, and one disliked change? (that you've seen).

My favourite change: The video Analytics system, gives the uploader a clear insight into in-depth stats about their videos, giving them an indication about how to improve for future videos.

My disliked change: I actually think not much is wrong with youtube, however the simple 5 star rating changing to likes/dislikes was a poor move in my view - the 5 star system alone gave a more accurate reading to a video - but I feel it could of been developed on further.

Let me know your ones! :)

The biggest change I like is the cleaner look of the site since the layout update, it looks more professional and less tacky but I do wish channel transparency and colour changes was back, I mean even Twitter has that.

The biggest change I dislike is not having comments on your channel, well not on the main tab. I think it should be just got rid of as very few people use it now compared to before. The old way allowed for much more socialisation which meant many more views as people would be visiting to talk to you and seeing your latest video and it could have lead to more people subscribing. I understand why they have done it though with all the old sub for sub channels using comments as a means for getting people to do sub for sub.

i don't want to offend you and i don't know if I'm 100% right but i thought YouTube was made in 2005, and i was bought by Google in 2006.

something i dont think is right is how anyone can be partner and if you become a partner its nothing special yo know?

I agree to an extent, It can be argued it's easy to become a partner - but it does take time, and in regards to it being 'nothing special' I would say what you put in is what you get out. If you want to make it special it's down to you, if you're a partner you have the tools, it's just utilizing them :)

yeah true

I like how youtube made it so that anybody can auto-play their videos on their channel. It helps distinguish between casual consumers and content creators. It used to only be available for partners though. Now anybody can use it!

I dislike The new channel layout. Before, you had the video on your channel, and a menu of other videos to the right of it, that you could scroll through, and then watch without leaving the channel. It was more convenient in my opinion, and they took it away.
