Well true, but many of the "lower" networks still offer some great stuff people might use. Plus, take a short contract and you can apply to a bigger one when you grow

No, the only reason for joining a partnership isn't the money, there are many reasons people join networks.

1. For music libraries
2. For gaming licenses a lot of people joined for
3. Clickable anywhere banners (gone)
4. Custom backgrounds (gone)
5. Prestige
6. Protection from click bombing
7. The whims of google adsense shutting down people's accounts for nefarious reasons
8. To be part of a group so they could possible collaborate with people higher up because that's pretty fun

I just gave you 8 reasons other than purely making money that people wanted to or want to partner, of course a couple of those reasons are obsolete due to the new channel design.

I waited years before I decided to partner, now I am wishing I hadn't. Not really any benefits I can see. Only difference I noticed is they take some of your money.
