Everybody needs to chill out about the new layout

Until it's something YOU don't like the change of I'm sure. We're all entitled to our opinion and I respect yours. It's only whining when someone doesn't see something as rosy as ourselves. It's more than a few call of duty kids who don't like the new layout, by the way. I bet some of the bigger channels don't like it either. However, we all accept that it is YouTube/Google's right to do what they want with their business, but it's our right to voice our opinion on the change. Like it or like or remain undecided. It's unfortunate that seems to bother some people so much so that they feel they need to come in here and tell us to stop whining, which they have every right to do, however, just for future reference, complaining about whiners is whining. The designers will find work, and we will all move on, but voicing ones opinion is in fact a way of coping with change. :)
 
I believe that change is good, however, the amount of times that the layout has been changed is a tad over the top.

I think it'll simply be the case of learning to adapt to the next one as it comes, I'm sure there may be a few plus sides to it.
 
The new layout will destroy youtube. First off all of us that worked our butts off to get banners and all these customization option are being sh*t on, partnerships with networks dont really man a thing anymore, only difference is we get paid and non partners dont. Which I didnt apply for a partnership for the money, I did it to get the banner and the other customization perks, that now means jack to me. Youtube is supposed to be about expressing yourself, now every single channel is going to look the same...whether your partnered or not. Next, you cant even look at the page for longer than a minute before you start squinting, its like someone threw up white out all over the page. And last, all your videos are in a chaotic mess right in the center of your page, you cant even see your total video views without clicking on the about me tab. This is just another way to filter out smaller channels and make the bigger channels more know. Google has destroyed Youtube hope they are happy.

How ? How is this killing small channels? As a small channel owner myself I don't see it. The new channel layout is more unified, it's easier to switch between your content and other content via the Guide AND you even have "Recommended Channels" that is right under the nose of the audience of bigger channels that promotes smaller ones !

That's your taste, I think it's more unified and makes for a better user experience trough YouTube by never switching page/layout for no reason like before.

Power* user. The general user (75% of the YouTube population by the last numbers) doesn't even have an account , and with each of the latest layout changes, the overall view and subscribe-trough numbers went up, they are clearly providing good change for 75% of the website's user, who are the people who might subscribe to you so you might wanna please them.

4- "It kills creativity"

If on a website about video sharing you need a 400x400 px image to display your creativity, you are doing YouTube wrong. First off : This is not Myspace, more unification is good. Second : You now have a classy banner that is bigger than before is feels more "on top" of the content, and the Trailer option that gives you the possibility of displaying a video to only the people who aren't subbed to you is amazing, you can have your own channel trailer on YouTube without doing it the old way where it was hiding your other content !


Overall, to me , this is a powerfull change that will bring in more subscription per video watched and overall a better YouTube for small and big channels.

What youtube layout? Imma confused did this happen while I was on my break from youtube?

See it from that point:

Starting later this Month every YouTube Channel out there will look like the same crap...​

Doesn`t matter if you are a YouTube Super-Star or just someone who has opened up his YouTube Channel to upload some Family Videos a few Minutes ago. YouTube has managed in less then six Years to remove all those unique Features that made everyone of us some kinda special if we paid the extra time to create a nice looking Background or an unique View Banner and replaced it with one ugly full-size Banner.

Instead of supporting that creativity we are now forced to advertise for other similar Channels while before that we could choose which other Channels should be listed on our Front Page too to make sure they get the attention they should get.

I`m in the lucky position that only a very tiny among of my Views are coming directly from YouTube itself but I can see why so many out there are now struggling with the latest YouTube innovation.

Let`s be honest...​

Those new changes are breaking a lot of Peoples Necks and I can already clearly see that now more then ever YouTube will become the place where those that are getting featured by YouTube will increase their Views while literally everyone else will get simple ignored because at the current point he never ever will have a chance to stood in the spotlight for even a single moment.

The only reason YouTube is changing the current Layout is to even have more Control about whom they are advertising and whom not. This was clearly never an How can we make the YouTube Experience even better then before - Transformation, it was an How can we put even more advertise on YouTube and forcing everyone into one direction - Movement and I can understand why everyone is now questioning the true motives of YouTube out.

The upcoming months will be brutal hard for some on YouTube and I can only guess that with the newest changes that are coming some of those that are currently here on the forum won`t make it through the upcoming Months since their Views will drop to a new low that might them questioning even more if it will be all worth it.

I wish everyone only the best but knowing at the same time that some of those faces I see every day here on the forum around won`t be here by the end of the Year is making me at the same time very sad.

My entire business is based around change.
Do you think that I enjoy the fact that anyone with $500 can go buy a DSLR with video and single-handedly ruin the worth of photography & video because they will offer their (usually sub-par) services for substantially low pricing or even worse: FREE!

No! It sucks...But that's how the world works. s**t happens that we can't control.

I didn't personally like the previous YouTube layout (pre-2012), but I didn't go on forums and complain how it is ruining my business.

Unfortunately, the world doesn't adapt to what we want. YOU have to learn to adapt and change to fit the world.

--and I wasn't complaining, I was suggesting that there are alternatives for you to make money and you should look into those avenues before bitching about something you can't change!

THANK YOU SO MUCH. Finally someone makes it clear that this time, it is not BANDWAGON hate. There are serious downfalls to partners.
