Everybody needs to chill out about the new layout

Something I havent seen anyone complain about yet is the popular channels section on the right, doesnt that mean we will be driving traffic away from our channels to the bigger YouTubers? I know we dont get masses of traffic on the channels but still it seems we could lose out if everyone visiting does click away onto whoever is "popular".
as a designer the design changes will half my income, the one thing i like is the discussions tab back again ;)

Personally, I'm getting confused over what this "new layout spazz" is all about.

Where is the proposed new layout?
What is it going to look like?
I don't know what is going on...

If I don't like it, I don't like it. However, I understand that YouTube/Google is a business and are going to do what's best for their business interest. I can't blame them for that, but, again I don't have to like it. I liked the creativity of backgrounds. I like having the clickable buttons where I wanted to put them, and to look like I want them to look. I liked how you could put a large message on the left and right side of your page. To my eyes the new layout is too cluttered with tons of links of both sides, I believe it's too much white. "It looks like crap" "That's your taste..." Yes, that's my taste.

Bottom line is it doesn't matter. YouTube/Google has a right to do whatever they want with their business. So those who don't love it as much as you will adapt, just like every other time. :)

That is a problem also, youtube see that at the moment. The popular channels generate them more income then lower channels and they do not want to take a risk in delving into smaller channels which could become something at a later date. I see it like real life, we should invest in the younger generation to make a better future. Same goes with youtube, invest in the smaller/not so popular channels to make a better future for youtube.

Thats something I see all around us, sadly the powers that be rarely do invest in the younger generation even though they know they should.
