Well, i have the answer.

When you make a new profile you automaticlly sub to alot of youtubers. That's why pewdiepie grew so much before with over 10mil+ subs without gaining much more views.

I dont believe his ratio was caused by that on its own. People subscribe and dont always find the new content as valuable as what they originally saw, people move on, dont come back it is like having a forum with members who sign up and dont come back, you never fully know why but a lot of the time theres nothing you can really do without asking each person why they left but it isnt realistic to do.

That might be a good feature, a unsubscribe feedback feature so when you unsubscribe you need to leave feedback for the creator, it may get trolled loads but we might get proper feedback too.

I do think the new account auto-subscribe thing has a lot to do with some of the massive channels that have popped up over the recent years. But, the steady views might also have to do with most of their views coming from the search engine. I only get a small fraction of views from subscribers in comparison to views from the search engine. I bet that happens to a lot of big YouTubers, too. Although unsubscribed people are finding their videos and watching them (perhaps subscribing, too), the number of views from subscribers is generally much much smaller than views from other sources. If you have a lot of videos that people can find in a search, then the views from search engines are sort of "diluted" between the videos, and only subscribers tend to watch the new content. That will make it look like you are gaining a lot of subscribers, but your views aren't changing much because the fraction of views from subscribers is so much smaller than the fraction of views from the search engine.

It's because people subscribe based on one video and don't really watch the newer videos because of lack of interest as one reason. But with the numbers big youtubers put up monthly 1% growth in views month-over can be 100,000 views. It's all relative, big or small, 1% growth in views is I'm sure still welcomed.

That is true mainly because people grow bored of the Youtuber but remained subscribe in hopes for them to be the what they used to be or to gain interest ,once again. Also there are things such as dead subscribers when a Youtuber may have been gone or as I just explained also equaling Youtube not always notifying them of their videos.

A subscription is just an indication that the algorithm should favor that user when generating recommendations for the user. Unless they use their subscription tab on the homepage, they are not given "here's new videos by your subscriptions!" at any point.

We all have to work on cultivating active subscribers, rather than passive ones.

I may subscribe to a larger YouTube channel but I might not necessarily watch every video.

Your post seems to be just another whiney shot at larger channels.

That's you. But it is a feature on youtube, and it does provide subs on every account made. So it's the truth, if you don't want to realize it.
