Ending / Outro card for videos?

When do you think you should make an outro card with music on your videos? Like take JackSepticEye for example. He has the eye in the jar with 2 videos on his outro card. Should you make one when you have more videos or just when you feel like? Any insight on this is much appreciated.

Do you use music in your outro card? If so what would you recommend genre wise to those of us contemplating making one?

I would say add one as soon as you can, it's a chance for you to put your branding at the end of the video rather than just a fade to black.

Background music is a must in my opinion - used to have it without but prefer it with.

I say right away, I dont see why anyone would choose to delay using one as its a good opportunity to keep people on your videos if done well.

Music is a must. In TV shows and movies, when they don't have anything going on, they have background music to keep the viewer interested and to stop them from changing to something else. The same principle applies to Youtube videos as well.

For the genre, pick something that you like and fits your personality.

I designed my own, and I use it to either overlay the last 10 seconds of the video, or fade to a decent song

I added an outro to my video on my latest video and I do notice an increase of views to the linked video! So yes it definitely helps!

Definitely, if you can, use an outro card right off the bat. It's your important call-to-action and a great way to basically remind and guide audiences to subscribe, comment, like, share, etc. Especially if you're starting a new channel, the outro card makes a huge difference.

Personally, in terms of background music for an outro, it depends on your content. For our videos (as you can see in my sig), we have no background music for our outro, just because I like the contrast between how the majority of the video has music, and how the outro has just an interviewee's voice to carry it. I want the video in the outro to have a "deleted scene" sort of feel. This is for our channel, of course, and if you have a different style, you may want to go another route.
