Ending a video with

I only asked it once and one time I ended my video with "Comment, subscribe, add to your favorites , rate 5 stars, add me as friend; all the links are in the description" as joke.
I just say well okay bye and then show my outro animation which is just text saying Thanks for Watching.
But there's nothing wrong with asking for likes or having an end card.

By asking for likes I mean if you enjoyed the video, I'm not a fan of those "like if (you also)..." or "like for..." stuff but there are a lot of people who seem to enjoy it on Facebook, so it probably works for YouTube as well.

I do it every now and then but I don't want to end every video with "please like and subscribe bla bla".... Also when I look at the audience retention it seems like people quit the video as soon as I say "Pl...." :P Boom, they are gone....
So yeah, it shouldn't really hurt but it's probably also not a part of the video where people stay tuned until the end.

It depends. If I'm vlogging, I might do it, but for finished videos of other people's poetry (which is the other thing I do), I don't.

I don't think it's necessary, I know I've done it here and there but I don't make it a regular thing. I've heard it improves the percentage of people who subscribe to you, but I personally haven't seen that on my channel. Most people subscribe to me because they like my videos, not because I had to remind them to do it. :)

I've found that ending with a comment prompt works much better. At the end of my videos, I'll usually ask people to leave me a comment about some related topic to the video. That definitely helps remind people that I love talking with them and that I want to be friendly. :wavespin:[DOUBLEPOST=1406859347,1406859275][/DOUBLEPOST]

There's a good idea. Try looking at your audience retention stats to see if they're even hanging around to watch the end of your video while you're asking them to subscribe and whatnot. I too have seen a decline at that point in my videos where I spiel about showing me love.

Yep, and it's a bit annoyning when you maybe want to add something to the end like bloopers or so. The people who are gone by then will miss them - obviously. From my personal experience whenever someone starts saying these lines I consider it the end of the video...

I don't always tell people to subscribe and like my channel etc, but when I do I like to make a joke about the topic that was discussed in the topic to tell people to subscribe. For example when I made a video talking about Fappy the Anti masturbation Dolphin I told my viewers to like and subscribe to my channel otherwise fappy was gonna watch them masturbate or something like that xD

I don't ask to subscribe at the end of all my videos because most of them are comedy skits. but i add a black screen just saying 'don't forget to subscribe' and a link to subscribe at the end of the videos. I don't think its annoying to the viewer.
