Elgato Game Capture HD cam overlay

Howdy y'all. I've had the Elgato Game Capture HD 60 for a while now, but i still can't seem to get any other than my built in Laptop webcam to work as a cam overlay. I would really like to use my Canon Rebel t5i as the "webcam" in the Elgato software as the quality of my built-in cam is a "tiny" bit crappy....

Have any of you guys been able to use anything else than the built-in webcam as the video device source in the Elgato software? Thanks! :)

Thanks man! I've seen some of those, but they still only cover webcam overlays, now, i want to use my Canon t5i / D700 as an "webcam" overlay, as the quality of the built-in cam is quite.... not so very good! But i still can't seem to find any info on how to use a "proper" video input device like a DSLR or a "real" camcorder etc.

i use the elgato gaming capture card and I have a Logitech C920. I don't use the elgato software to record face cam, I use the Logitech software then link it together in sony vegas afterwards! Hope this helps!

Okey thanks! Great idea, then i will from now on only use the HD 60 to record gameplay and use the Canon t5i for "facecam" and then link them in Adobe Premiere Pro :) But one last question, how do i sync the sound then? If i record the -sound only file- with my Røde mic? Thanks :)

Yeah thx great idea, keep it simple! They've been doing that in movie productions for ages, so i recon that's a brilliant way to do it it! :) What kind of software do you use btw?
