Elgato Game Capture Eats Gigabytes?

I've Got It
Hey guys. I'm looking to get an Elgato Game Capture to record footage, but I hear it takes up a good amount of space on computers. Is this true? If you use one, could you tell me how much space a video takes?

A 10 minute clip for me takes up 2GB. But just remember that you will probably be cutting the clips up when editing anyway. & you just need to make sure you keep deleting the clips after you have used them & you should be fine :)

The size of the elgato program itself is just 71.3mb

Each video doesn't actually take up that much space! I tend to delete videos once I've edited and uploaded to YouTube with it but, I will say that it takes a backlog and this certainly does eat the GB's... Although you can just delete the backlogs and get a lot of memory back! Basically what the backlog does is let you recover files you may have deleted by accident & it lets you edit on the Elgato software as well as take a screenshot from any part of the desired gameplay :)

I have a 2TB HDD in my PC, and I've been recording videos every single day for about 3 months and its taken up 7ooGB so I wouldn't say its the worst in terms of taking up space. Just be cautious of what you keep and what you delete! :)

It does each a hell of a lot a GB if you play for long bouts. But just make sure it records to an external harddrive, and you've got plenty of space!
