Eleventh Gorgeous Channel Strikes

Wow.... that's kinda lame. I have never come across a video where the description was just random words. If I have ever seen that without seeing this forum first, I'd be like 'dafuq is this s**t? Did the guy writing this spasm or something?'

Youtube penalizing huge channels instead of special privileges? Wonder what happened to cause this change.

Based on my observations on both Japan and US YouTube - YouTube is very "permissive" in the initial (rapid growth phase) but at later stage, once the ecosystem starts to be too saturated with all kinds of big and small channels, it starts to be more restrictive. Just for the record - Japan YouTube is still in the "all is allowed" phase! Just curious to see how long it will last! :)

They are saying they think they are being targeted because they left their network recently, what network were they with before?

The timing of this does seem pretty deliberate to coincide with (and disrupt) their appearance at Playlist Live next week...of course, they are getting lots of publicity so in the long run as long as they don't get banned forever they could come out way ahead on this.

It's annoying but false flagging happened to me before as well as retaliation. There were a channel uploading copies of all my vids and some had 50k-200k views on them (the videos were flipped to prevent content id). After I DMCA'd all the videos and they were taken down all my videos were flagged and one was pulled down for "mature" giving me a community guideline strike (which I appealed successfully). The flaggign system could use some work.

Looks like they were with Style Haul back in 2012.. I'm assuming that's probably who their Network was.

If you do research on how tags and keywords work nowdays you will find that it is quality over quantity at this point anyway and that your videos are ranked more on view ratings (length and interaction) than your tags which only give YouTube an initial place to put your video. Rather than spamming your videos with tags try to make sure that you promote a video strongly in the first couple hours to show YouTube that people want to see this video which means it will then show up higher in search rankings and be promoted by YT.

Putting tags in your description is a huge no no. I know that people used to do it and it's not allowed anymore. I don't seem to be subscribed to any channel that does this so I'm not really sure who or why. Whether someone is targeted or not, their still doing something wrong. I actually like that larger Youtubers are facing consequences for doing things they're not supposed to. I don't want any of them to fail but the rules aren't just for those of use with small channels, they're for everyone.

Exactly and that's the point I was trying to make. It sucks to get strikes or bans from your channel but the rules apply to everyone. They are online for anyone to read at their leisure, following them is up to the creator.
