Electrical audio feedback when recording on laptop, solutions?

Hey guys!


The Issue:

So I'm not new to recording hardware, but I haven't really found anyone who can give me a definitive answer through their own experience on how to resolve noise caused by electrical interference when a laptop is plugged in. This problem of course resolves itself when the laptop isn't plugged in, but then I only have 1 hour before it runs out of battery - and even less if I'm gaming. So what I hope to find is a way to eliminate this noise so that I can record on the go with ease.

My Hardware:

I currently have a Berhinger Xenyx 802 analog mixer, which has 2 phantom power channels, my microphone of choice is a SM7-B, and my recording software is Sony Vegas 12. I do not use an external sound card to record, I instead plug the L/R output into the small 3.5mm jack on my laptop. I use the same setup at home on my Desktop with no audio issues.

What I seek:

I hope at least one of you has had this issue and resolved it, and can therefore offer a valid solution. In addition, If you know of any decent portable mixers (analog or USB) with phantom power + british style EQ (High, mid, low levels + gain) I would appreciate a suggestion.

It may be a bit of an odd question and sorry for not having a definitive answer for you but you say you've tried it both plugged and unplugged: Have you tested it without the battery in the laptop? I've seen similar happen in the past and it's usually because the power isn't as stable when you're charging and draining power from a battery however remove the battery from the equation and you have a stable power feed directly to the components.

If that doesn't work, I'll leave you to hopefully receive an answer from someone that's seen it and dealt with it more recently as my last experience with what you were talking about was around 6-7 years ago.
 
Make sure your microphone and cables are far away from any interference and consider shielding the power cable using aluminium foil.
