Gaming review`s fireshock moment
Hello as many of u know of if u dont i use a roxio (old one) to record my game play and all that jazz but i want to upgrade to new capture card. Now i want to buy the Elgato because everyone says to me the quality is good and its easy to setup but the roxio HD Pro has a better editing software which i need to use in my videos .................WHICH ONE DO I PICK?????? please help me out thanks :)
 
I would choose which ever is in the price range your willing to spend. I have just purchased the elgato after watching reviews and vs on youtube. The vs show side by side comparasions of both and it seems that the roxio shows a little darker and has some blending issues while playing. As for software Im going to be using my CS6 Premiere Pro software for editing anyway. Try searching for some comare vids before making the leap oh and you could look at xpertthief he uses the elgato I think. hoped this helped.
 
I think the roxio would be the better choice. Reasons why: the roxio like you said has an easy, and simple edditing software for beginners. It's also the cheaper of the two.
A flaw most can argue is that yes out the box the recording of the roxio, is'nt as nice as the elgato; but eveyone knows that you have to color correct the video. And not depend on the initial recording.

True but dpending on what you plan on doing I dont think you have to color correct to much elgato footage. but the price and software make the roxio very attractive for someone just starting.
I know the elgato
is compatible with all systems and a pc can you do the same with the roxio?

It is compatible with all consoles, but if we are talking computers it only works for Windows not Mac.

hmmm i got a idea could i edit the elagto clips in the roxio software?
 
I dont think so seeing that the footage has to be on the roxio to actually edit anyway. I think Im not totally sure. But wouldnt that meant that you have both the elgato and the roxio though? no reason to have both.

no i mean i can edit it with my old roxio and add certain things in it
