hey guys ive been using sony vegas 12 and it keeps crashing all the time without it i cant upload...
does anyone know any other good video editing software if so please help i have no editor !!!!

is it good for editing too.. like how far can you go with it or is it pretty basic
It's pretty basic. You can edit and add transitions and music, but not much else. It has no capability of layering so you can't overlay one visual file over another. I opted to go with Adobe Premiere Pro. It's not cheap, but I really enjoy working with it.

However, that being said, I hear a lot of people like Sony Vegas, so have you considered tuning up your computer and seeing if that won't solve your problem? Have you defragged recently? Updated your graphics drivers? A few small tweaks to your PC could fix the crashing issues.

so would you say a re install of windows 7 might help.... my pc should be fine running it i have 4gb ram, nvidia gtx 55oti, and an intel 2 quad Q8200 at 2.33hz does that meet the requirements.. and thanks for your help

Just do a disk defrag and a disk cleanup and delete temporary files etc. I have sony vegas 12 as well and it takes a lot more to run it then people realize...its a big program. Anyways I have to do this every once in a while to keep my computer optimized. Everyone does. The next best alternative if you do want to switch, I hear is Adobe Premiere. Like I said I use Sony Vegas 12 and I love it.

Windows movie making is very basic, do not use it lol.

Try premiere pro? FCP? Erm there are a few others but I can't think of them right now.

A great one is VideoPad. Its 100% free (there is a paid version, but I actually prefer the free version) and it comes with a ton of effects and transitions, and allows you to put in your own plugins. It has an overlay track, and even allows for basic audio editing without the need of an outside audio editor. I've been using it for years and I still love it! Hope I helped :)

Money could be an issue. Suggesting stuff like Premier is a little over the top imo.

What type of files are you editing and what are you trying to do with them? Like what elements do you NEED to have in an editor. Answer those so we're not just taking a shot in the dark with suggestions.
