Editing Old Videos

what are your thoughts on editing old videos with improved software? I just got Cyberlink Director's Suite 4 and there are some cool effects that I can add to new and even older videos. I'm thinking of keeping the old videos up and putting a link to the new videos on them... How would you handle it? Delete the old or so what I'm doing?

Since you have gotten this new software, personally i would keep doing what im doing to save time, but if you have time and want to re edit videos, you go ahead.
Happy new year!

I haven't been making much new stuff, but I already know what I have made so I have ideas already to use the software. One thing is blurring everything except for the running dogs in my videos, I think it will look interesting.

I think it could be interesting -- especially if the old videos have poor audience retention rate and you can fix whatever was causing that. But perhaps you should turn those old videos "private" instead of deleting them -- that way, you can still keep the traffic stats that you had built up for them.

As for me, I don't really get as much benefit from this, since my old videos are bad for reasons that can't really be fixed in software. I'd have to reshoot them to improve them (which, to be fair, I might do that eventually, but it would take much more work)

After getting a better camera and living in a place with better lighting (I can't control where I live or what lighting that place might hold), I went back and George Lucas-ed up my first 6 or so episodes that had horrible lighting during the live-action scenes. We just re-did the live action scenes, the gaming stuff, while not perfect wasn't THAT bad, so we just went with it. That's prob the only time I'll ever go back and re-do old videos. I just felt the originals looked really REALLY bad in comparison to the ones that followed. I know videos get better in time with new cameras and different editting programs, but I didn't want the dif from episode 9 to 10 to be that drastic.

I'm going to edit this video right now and test out the blur effect... I should be able to make the background blurry and have only Lola be clear. I'm in experimentation phase right now, I'm kind of excited to edit videos again

I've considered it for just 2 or 3 videos, but I decided my time was better spent making new videos instead. Let bygones be bygones.
