Easiest / Hardest YouTube Content to Create?

my content is pretty different to most on yttalk but its not easy but not hard i got to study all the songs and this is about any where between 10 to 40 songs per video then rate them put them in the either 1 - 40 range then edit get all the information for the song then find the best bit of the song each song and put that in the video it usually takes anywhere between 1 to 9 hours to edit depends if im doing the 10 song on or 40 song one
 
I really can't speak for any other type of video since I don't make them, but I make narrations of stories. It actually doesn't really take that much time to actually record and edit the videos, but it does take a while to actually find the right time to record. Sometimes when I have free time, I sound a little sick or had gotten to enthusiastic with laughing earlier or had even drank milk. Other times, I just don't have a chunk of time to use or my roommate's in the room or the hall is too loud for recording. Lots of things can get in the way so it does take time to find the right time to actually record.

Before any of that happens, I have to scout out stories which does take a while, but it's pretty enjoyable. Could take hours or days depending on how much time I dedicate to each session and on whether or not I have to ask for permission to use the story and monetize, etc. Then the recording time varies based on the length of the story, and so does the editing, when taking out mistakes and breaths and such.

Then I have to hunt for music because I don't like repeating the same tracks in every video which actually takes a really long time. After that I take more time to hunt down a good picture with permissions to use in the video and thumbnail before I can make those.

So this is about the time breakdown:

Story scouting-Varies. Can take days.
Recording-15-45 minutes
Editing out mistakes/breaths-2-4 hours
Finding and inserting music-2-4 hours
Finding a picture-1 hour
Putting video together-20 minutes
Making thumbnail-10 minutes
 
I personally feel "music videos" are the easiest to create, all you have to do is grab a song and a picture of the Singer(s) then you're pretty much done.

As for the hardest type(s) of content I believe that Animations and Short Movies are the hardest to create, not the really low quality ones (poor acting/writing i.e.) but the mid-high quality ones which people spend hours on end to create.
 
Gaming and Top X videos are the easiest to make simply because content is already very much determined by the type of video. Animation is about the hardest as you need to come up with the story on your own plus you have the animation work.
 
In my opinion of the videos I've made, the easiest ones are short vlogs where I'm just chatting to the camera and the hardest so far has been my first travel vlog. I basically vlogged a whole week and put it up in 3 parts that all connected to each other. On the week itself I had to remember to film (which I wasn't so bad at but didn't enjoy so much when I was trying to pull my suitcase or find my way) and in the editing I had to go through tons of footage and get it down to a manageable length, ensuring it wasn't too repetitive and everything made sense. I enjoyed that travel vlog the most and it's my favourite to watch back but it was definitely a lot harder than my regular videos.
Of my other videos, I find that product reviews / demonstrations take more work than lighthearted chatty videos.
 
It depends what you mean by easiest and hardest.

for example - gaming videos - easy to make, a gaming channel starting now? Hard to grow.

Some gaming videos would be incredibly hard. What about those that are well known for being top of their game? those involved in championships. They might record for an hour, but for that hour they have to play at the top of their skill level, and if they get a bad run, they often get a lot of flack in their comments.

I do animation. Is it hard? nope. its actually incredibly relaxing. Sometimes I get wrist cramps if I've drawn for too long. However, is it hard to do animation for youtube? - I guess so. I can only post once every 2 - 8 months, and that makes it very hard to grow.

You don't need to buy a camera or even really have a fancy computer to do it, but having done my fair share of animation in the past, it's SO TIME CONSUMING. It drives me insane when I see comments on animators channels that are like "make more videos!". People have no idea how long it takes to write, storyboard, keyframe and then draw every. single. frame. It's insane work for insane people and it takes forever. I don't know how some of them even consistently release decent quality content. Props to animators.

Lol thank you for this. I get those comments every day, its hard to explain why a 5 minute cartoon takes months xD
 
right.... never done an un boxing but it looks like a cake walk.... challenges and tags too..... they give you a layout of what the video should be with questions or a task to do..... stupid in my opinion.... why would you want to make a video that EVERYONE ELSE is making..... be unique ;)[DOUBLEPOST=1452020447,1452020011][/DOUBLEPOST]And Gaming Channels??? I'm going to have to disagree for growing them..... Yes, that market is saturated beyond any other genre of Youtuber.... but from what I've seen, Gamers grow quickly if they just promote, easy to find an audience because there are so many of them.... I've seen crap gaming channels make leaps and bounds, I don't know how or where they promote..... but they like work in teams or together or something...... or maybe they're all just kids doing something stupid like sub for sub..... idk, haha
 
I feel gaming and vlogging are pretty easy as you can do it pretty much anywhere, it doesn't take a lot of time to edit etc...
Harder to film things would be animation, skit comedy, magic tricks (or at least to do them well).
Animation you need to create an idea, script everything, voice acting, animation, editing. The process makes it hard for them to post a lot of videos.
Skit comedy slightly easier as you film instead of animating but still can be a long process.
With magic tricks you need to have an idea, figure out what to say, practice a lot, find a place and people to film with etc.
Pranks/social experiments might be up there in difficulty as well.
 
I think small vlog channels and sketch comedy channels like myself are hard channels.. Why? Because when you do lets say a daily vlog through out the day.. you have to watch every clip and edit the good parts and try to shorten the video so it don't drag.... and comedy sketches are hard I think because if you are by yourself.. and you have a cool idea for a sketch you have to keep moving the camera for good shots and it takes a lot of time and a lot of work goes into both.
