Easier after 1000 subs?

On one of my biggest channels I have 24K subs but only get an average of 300 views per video. The math does not add up but that's the way it is. Anywho, the first 1000 subs took me over a year then someone posted one of my videos on Reddit and my video went semi viral and got 500 additional subs in one day but then dropped off to 10 per day. Then another time a video went full viral on youtube front page for a day and I got tons of subs for a few day's. But then it too dropped off. Then starting last year in April everything hit rock bottom to where I was only getting 500 views per day and 1 or 2 subs every now and then. Today, I get 300 views and maybe 1 subscriber per day.

Youtube changes the way they promote videos now. They promote their paid channels or TV channels or what ever they are and they promote big channels and hardly ever promote the smaller guy.

I guess what I am trying to say is, it does not matter how many subs you get you won't see any difference in the rate you gain the subs. When youtube makes changes then you may see a change in the average subscription rate but in my case I found it always negative.

Well I started in july 2012 to post DayZ related videos, I had 29 subs at the time. At the beginning of march 2013 I celebrate my 1k subs. As of today I have 1680 subs..

I went from
9 month to earn 1000 subs
To
3 month to earn 680 subs
So yeah !
It became easier after the first milestone. But as they were saying earlier, you become better at youtube with time.

My first video was just some raw gameplay, now it's more cinematic, I also made a full let's play of tomb raider... So YOU make the growth of your channel easier... Just don't give up

(Sorry if the english is bad... Frenchies spotted) :3

Hm, very interesting to read everyone's replies. Thank you for the feedback! It seems that content will drive views, and content + views = subscribers. It also seems that subscribers + content = views....

So basically, it stands to reason from what I'm reading here that with good, consistent content, subscribers will increase exponentially over time. Thanks! :-)

Well, I will go as far as removing the word "Good" and what's left is consistent content. The reason I say that is because there are many many channels out there that provide consistent garbage but yet have a huge following. Two channels that come to mind are "TheAngryGrandpaShow" and "HowToBasic" Both have millions and millions of views and a huge backing.

I started my channel on Sep 2012 and once I hit 1k things started to pick up. I hit 10k sub few weeks ago and already picked up about 3000 subs. I think it will get easier to get subs and views as you channel grows more.

Haha well, you're going to disagree with me here, but I just saw "Howtobasic" for the first time and laughed at a bunch of the vids where he's destroying stuff in his kitchen... the pure retardation of it was hilarious to me. Haven't seen the other channel yet, but I'll have to check it out. Just from the banner, it looks like it could be funny. Different strokes I suppose! :-)[DOUBLEPOST=1372043612,1372043513][/DOUBLEPOST]

Congrats! That is amazing growth, but you also have over 500 videos, correct? That has to be like 2 vids a day... or more!

I actually have more than 700 vids....thats about 4 vids per day lol

From my experience:
I have around 15,300 Subscribers now and...

NO! it's never get easier, You have to "feed the monster" give your current subscribers what they like (that's why they've subscribed to you on the first place).

If your subscribers will be supportive and like your videos, share it and such... you will get more subscribers.

What I'm saying is... I still work VERY hard for my YouTube channel, and it's never easier, Remember: "YouTube is one of the hardest jobs on the planet!" but if you'll stick to it, you'll success and grow more and more!

Keep up the good job and Good Luck! :)

Yes, based on some channels, it is easier to get the next 100 or 1k or so subscribers. Subscribers are like an exponential growth unless the channel is inactive or going dead. Plus, personally I still think while subscribers are important (for the initial views of a video right after it's uploaded), it is the viewcount that matters more at the end of the day. (since that's the whole point of YouTube is to get a video out for many to see.)
