No idea what is going on, but for some unknown reason neither of these two programs works with my microphone atm. (Blue Yeti) But it does work on skype.
I am using the settings I used before I reinstalled windows.[DOUBLEPOST=1427496024,1427495763][/DOUBLEPOST]screw it... Just gonna reinstall all over again.
 
Are you selecting the correct mic? Audacity has a drown down menu where you can choose which mic it's recording from. A lot of people make the mistake of having their webcam off yet selected as the mic which results in no sound.
 
Make sure it was the default microphone, afterwards make sure you the programs are using that mic. Make sure your settings match that of the microphone. Of course make sure the mirophone is plugged in correctly.
