Dxtory and recording help please

I'm trying to record the first episode of a minecraft survival series but need some input for my dxtory settings. Before I start I'll just state my laptop's specs to give an idea of performance and a better repsonse from you guys helping :)

Intel Core i7 3537U, 2Ghz, not sure if this one is hyper threaded, I only see 4 CPUs in device manager
NVIDIA GT740M
8GB 1600Mhz RAM

When I run minecraft I use optifine and set it to make my graphics settings give me a constant 30fps, no drops, no higher

When I try to record in the dxtory codec it is uncompressed and file size is huge but I DO get 30fps in my recording.

When I try to record using one of my compressed codecs I only get 10-25fps in my recording due to it having to do on-the-fly compression I assume.

So my problem is that I can play in 30fps but my recording will be 10-25fps if I use a compressed codec

Any input on this would be appreciated. I do have 550GB of space left so I could record uncompressed then compress the viedo and delete the original but ideally I would like to use a codec with compression in the first instance without a better GPU. My RAM and CPU are well enough I think[DOUBLEPOST=1373530691,1373530057][/DOUBLEPOST]Nobody? :/

I would go with the uncompressed first. Then render it through a video editing software so that it's more portable and "uploadable"

Make sure you have 64-bit java and have set the default Java run path to the 64-bit version.

Never really thought of that. Thanks :) I remember minecraft always telling me to use 64-bit java, not 32 when I try to set render distance to far. Thanks again, I'll go try[DOUBLEPOST=1373531104,1373531056][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yeh. I might try ZaphodX's solution first. This whole problem may just be a small mistake by me when getting java

I don't think so, as the recording problem would be due to Dxtory and not Minecraft.

Press ctrl+alt+delete with Minecraft running. If the location of java /javaw.exe doesn't point to your 64-bit version of java then you are using the 32 bit version and need to set the "64-bit java default run path".
