DVD recorder or Capture Card?

I thought that only had HDMI input?

I'd buy a capture card with component/composite cables, that way you can also record newer games in HD if you want to.
My HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition has HDMI and Component input, not composite, but I think it could work with those too. Not sure, though.

Here's a few I've used:

Hauppauge HD PVR
This has both component and composite cable input. Short and chunky cables. Can record 360p-1080i

Hauppauge HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition
Has HDMI input, as well as component input. Can record up to 1080p.

Dazzle DVD Recorder
This is a DVD recorder, I had a Dazzle as my first capture card. The quality wasn't great, and Pinnacle isn't the best editing software. But I think it's cheaper?

The Elgato has an S-Video port where you can plug other cables in like RCA and Component (also the PS3 cable). Personally I would get the Elgato ;D

The elgato software blows other capture cards software away. The simplicity of it is amazing.
