The cool kids around the block
So in my studio, (bedroom) I'm currently using 2 screens for my setup and it works wonders for video and music editing, but I've seen videos and pictures of triple monitor setups and some just look so. Sexy! O.O
But idk if its actually more productive or if its too much. If you're rockin the triple screen, let me know how youre liking it. If not, lemme know what u think

I would prefer triple or an odd number of screens as it allows for one centre main screen and then on each side other screens.

I would say stick with 2 monitors. I am going to get a second monitor. I was thinking about three monitors, but for one, they take up to much room, and two I would rarely use 3 monitors. I do videos now and have used 2 monitors in the past, and having two is fine. If I got an extra 2 monitors smaller in size then maybe. Its something I think about often, so I cant wait to see what people reply with!

2 Monitors is a necessity when getting deep into video and music editing.
3 Monitors is not a bad thing. At my old apartment I had a triple monitor setup. I had my two work monitors and then a 42 inch tv set up as my third monitor. We used this to display our finished edits this way everyone could watch instead of crowding around my desk.

After I moved we purchased a chromecast so now I have no need for the third monitor. I still use it the same as before but it isn't connected directly to my computer.
I personally don't have much use for a third work monitor, but to enhance a viewing experience is always nice =)

I think 2 screens are more productive. 3 sc. are more for sorround gamming. That's my opinion. And you have to have editing/advance user level 70+ in order to find 2 screens inadequate. Probably you would keep 3rd monitor just for winamp or something, and thats waste of everything, starting with electricity... :)

I feel three are for gaming not really needed.
Two are perfect. One large area for general editing and a second area to do more precise editing at the same time. You can also use it as a quick desktop to jump from your editor to your files or even just a large preview (what I mainly use my second one for).

Honestly the only reason I have my second monitor is because I needed it for recording console games and then I realized how useful it is to have two monitors... It's too bad my original monitor is decent and the second one is literally just a TV display, but it does it's job (not a very pretty job lol).

I used to use 2 monitors, and it was pretty decent, but I don't think I could ever go back from 3 monitors now to be honest with you. At the current time I can see YouTube videos on the left, this is in the middle, and Tweetdeck on the right, so its easy to watch something and keep track of all my social media. Also, being a streamer, screens are incredibly useful, as it allows me to have the game in the middle, and have the chat open, along with the streaming software, and a bunch of overlays I use, all at the same time. Its just made my life so much easier in many ways.
