Dont sub unless you mean it

Now I don't have many subscribers and the ones that I do have are people that come and say things like
'Great video, I subbed, please sub back'

No, cause I know that you aren't actually gonna watch any of my videos, so why even bother, its the least helpful thing ever especially when you are trying to build a decent fanbase.

I get this a lot as well. I hate it so much. Please do not subscribe to me if you don't like my content, o if you won't watch it. I will not sub back, I will not leave a like, I will not leave a comment! Come on what is the point!? There is no point! Now my rant is over.

Sometimes, but when my YouTube channel was rather "young" I did the exact same thing. I know the majority of these people just wants your subscription but in my case I wanted to form band with another channel so we could help each other out and maybe grow because of that.

I've had a few of those comments, YouTube's filter usually stops them from being public unless I accept them though. I find they generally don't subscribe anyway, as I'll check and unless they've subscribed at the same time as someone unsubscribing or something, it's fairly obvious they didn't subscribe, they're just looking for subs.

If they do make it past the filter, I delete them and sometimes block the account. It's frustrating when people try to grow off of someone else, unless of course it's a collab, shoutout or something legitimate but when people seek subscribers through comments it annoys me.

*nods* I guess every small YouTuber does. These spammers hurt their own channels as much as others.

Thank you! I thought I was the only one who only wants people to subscribe if they like the videos. The sad part is that sometimes people subscribe who don't really use youtube very often so you still don't get views because they watch one or two videos and then that's it. Really I'd rather have some feedback than people just clicking to like or subscribe.

its weird. i have only had one comment like that. my audience is much older than the average though so that might have something to do with it
