Does watching my own videos affect stats?

A good chunk of my fans don't have youtube accounts because they mainly use it to watch my videos. Because of this, I often view videos from my account so I can show people the videos whenever I see them in person. Am I shooting myself in the foot by doing this? I know that youtube is counting it as a view whenever I click on one of my videos, but does it really matter? Is it contributing to audience retention? If it is, does that time count toward my video's rank in searches? I'm not really sure what I can do to get around this (if I log out before watching, I don't even get a view added to the count which REEEEAAALLY fucks me up considering a handful of people watch the videos from within my apartment building without logging in and NONE of their views get counted), but I'm curious as to whether or not I'm benefitting at all or if I'm just inflating the count with no real reward.

Here is a video by our own
@derraleves :D He's awesome.

1 view PER IP?! So that means that even if I got every single person living in my building to watch my videos, it'd only really count one view since we all have to use the same Internet o.o......... Well f**k me, I may as well only have two fans. Thanks for telling me that, it really changes my view of how much I can rely on the fans I know in real life

You all don't have the same IP, your computer has it's own special unique IP.
