Does video category matter?

I've noticed that my videos are in the People & Blogs category and have been ever since I started, but "Entertainment" is more fitting for my channel.

Does this matter? Will it affect views? Will it affect revenue?
 
I often wonder the same thing. I THINK the categories are just used to help determine where your video shows in "recommended" sections, etc, and it does not directly affect your review, but that's just a guess and I have no source for it.
I'm hoping that whoever posts an answer also gives their [legitimate] source of the information so we know they aren't just pulling the answer out of their a$$ (like 95% of the answers here).
 
I would imagine the categories are not just for the viewing audiences, but also for advertisers who want to control what categories of channels serve their ads. Much like how we select what categories to show our own ads we purchase through adwords. Those correspond to the general YouTube categories.

Exactly, when you create adwords campaign you can chose category or couple categories where you want your ads to appear.
