Ya gotta cuss in another language. Try these.

Spanish: Vete a la mierda! Usted puta madre coño!
German: Fick! Sie Mutter ficken Fotze!
Swedish: Fan! Du mor jävla fitta!

Sadly I could read all those and knew exactly what you were saying without a translator since I have learned spanish and german lol

I can't see how swearing has effected any channels there are some channels who swear but bleep it out and its mainly because they know a younger audience is watching. EpicMealTime for example, they swear a lot but bleep it out for the consideration that they have younger viewers but it hasn't effected them at all if anything its earned respect from the older generation that their actively bleeping swear words out. But its not frowned upon and shouldn't make a difference. If you swear a lot go for it don't try and hide it, it's who you are

Most ridiculous poll ever. Of course not, some people dont mind it and other people do. If any thing it would go against you, not for you.

Here's something i've noticed. Swearing has no real impact to the viewership itself. Also another revelation is the Youtubers we think are "big time" because they have like 300k subs have very few of them come back to watch.

I know this sounds ridiculous but I just saw this on Necroscope86 (80k subs) and NintendoCapriSun (~350k subs) who are two medium to very large YouTube channels. NCS hasn't hit above 100k views on a video in the past year and he posts basically every single day and does popular s**t. A lot of the videos don't get over 15k in a year. Same with Necro he has about 80k subs but hasn't produced a consistent viewership in the last year or 2 that gets over 10k views per video time wise. Meaning that all series a person makes are not created equal in the eyes of the viewer. So in one series you may be hot stuff, but the next may go unwatched.

Therefore Subs don't equal views or popularity, and also the sub to view ratio is more balanced towards views then subs. So if you have like me (40 subs) but each video gets over that amount you are good off. This is all because that algorithm changed making shorter gaming videos obsolete or at least slightly more obsolete because SEO is mostly confirmed by watch time instead of views, likes, comments now. Meaning that the more VIEW TIME you get is the only thing that promotes your channel to the masses vs whether you swear or not.

It just comes natural to me. I don't exactly drop F bombs left and right, but if I'm angry about something, I don't hold back. It just comes out whenever it comes out. But I don't think it helps me get more or less views.

Read my above post I found the formula to it. If you want the short answer viewership and promotion is more related to Watch Time and that's it now. Subscribers, likes, comments, favorites, etc are irrelevant now since YouTube learned people were scamming that system.

Watch Time = Total Time watched not the length of the video. Therefore if you post 3 minute videos in a series that won't do better then if you kept someone watching your video for a long 20 minute video because YouTube bases their system on "audience retention" (watch time) instead of the old stuff since people scammed it too much.

I don't understand how this is even a question.

Yes, swearing will make your video get promoted more and get all the views. Especially when every other word is a cuss word. Go ahead, try it. You'll get all the subscribers.

It's pretty weird that you keep talking about this like it's a revelation lol. This has been the case and common knowledge for about 2 years.

Will swearing just for the sake of swearing get you views? No. It will come off as fake, try harding, annoying etc.

Will swearing NATURALLY to something get you views? For example, you're playing a scary game and boom jumpscare and you're like "The f**k was that noise?" might get you some views I guess.

But it has nothing to do with swearing or not, CinnamonToastKen is a LPer who never swears in his videos and has almost 800k subscribers.

It's all about your personality.

I wish I was. Hell I should be at some point. Well think about it though. Now that i've had time to reflect on the issue and think about it critically. Pewdiepie says f**k in like the first 30 seconds. He's the #1 channel on YouTube BUT at the same time it needs to not be "f**k s**t damn hell a** b***h fuckrag s**t goddamnit" as your script. The viewership is more based on you being a character that people enjoy watching. The biggest youtube names swear, some even excessively, but it's more about how you promote, who you target your audience at, who you blow along the way (no pun intended; there are people that'll suck a d**k for views, not me but I know a few people who did), and what you do.

I've noticed the reason some people don't get big starting out or have been going for 4 years and never get anywhere is they never network, never share their posts, never talk to the "fans", never do anything but post it and wait. You have to go by the mantra of 90% Networking 10% video making. I learned that the hard way, because i've hyped up this donkey kong thing i'm doing for a while talking to all these twitter people and putting up the thumbnails before it went out. Day it goes up gets 50+ views vs some of my old stuff I did no promo for and never even got over 20 a month ago.

It's more about promoting and trying to get as many eyes on your screen as possible plus making something that people remember.
Holy crap I love the games you choose to play! Talk about a flashback to my childhood! Subscribed!

As for the thread, my favorite YouTubers are Grace Helbig, Mamrie Hart, Hannah Hart, PewDiePie, and JennaMarbles so that should say where I stand on the whole swearing thing. But, I am 24 and I am my own boss so I don't need to be as professional as some of the other people I know.
