There is no 1000 sub restriction for fan finder. It just takes longer for the fan finder to start showing your video if you have less than 1000 subs. That rumor is what happens when people who can't understand basic english jump to conclusions that YouTube is trying to screw them.

The fan finder ad works primarily upon the results. So if you aren't getting good results from it, it's because the watch time from the ad sucks. So if you see poor results and horrible watch time, don't expect YouTube to show your video very often-and since you're allowed to upload multiple videos for Fan Finder use, keep rotating in better performing videos if you want your ad to be seen.

Oh right, I'll have to go and check it out again :) People were saying that fan finder simply didn't function for people with lower sub count. Nice to know it works for all :D
 
Mine has been in Queue for quite a while now, and Fan Finder doesn't discriminate on subscribers or things like that. It actually uses who subscribes to you and who views your content to reach out to people who enjoy the same content. It literally tries to find fans for you, and if it can't find enough to justify running your ad, it will not run it until your channel is big enough to have an actual audience.
 
It took a while between the time I submitted mine and having it shown, but I am seeing some results. Are they dramatic? Not really, but I really can't complain, it's a free service.
 
I submitted mine a while ago and it got reviewed and accepted. It ran for about a month with great results but slowly started to decline. I remade my channel trailer and I think it is much better. I just submitted it last night so we'll see how long it takes for it to get accepted. But yep fan finder works
 
It's good to know that it actually works, I was also put off when I read somewhere that it doesn't work unless you have 1k+ subs.
