Does FaceCam Help?

TheManCave

I've Got It
I have a question everyone! How do must people feel about facecam's in gaming youtube channels? Do you or most people prefer gaming channels where you can see the youtuber actually playing and see his/her reactions or do you prefer just hearing audio because you feel the facecam gets in the way of what you're actually trying to view....THE GAME! Does it help you feel more engaged with the youtuber when there's a facecam?

I was thinking about incorporating facecam into my gaming channel but I want to know more or less what the general feel of them are in the community.

I have a DSLR camera I never use so more than likely, that's what I'll be using to record myself and then later rending it with my footage in sony vegas.

I use facecam. I don't like making videos without facecam, and if I do it'll be on my pointless second channel.
I personally feel more connected to the person who has the facecam when I watch the video, and I feel like the facecam makes the video make the video more interesting

Thanks buddy. I actually got the idea after watching your team fortress video hahaha

It depends what you do with your face. If you just have a plain face and do nothing special with it, then it's boring and useless. If you are going to use a face cam, be whacky, wild, or bizarre with your facial movements.

I say do it if you want, don't if you don't. I personally don't care if someone does or doesn't , but the majority of gaming content I watch (Which an't much) I usually rarely see a facecam used.

For example, if you're playing a horror game try to be genuinely scared and surprised and all that stuff?

[DOUBLEPOST=1393129932,1393129777][/DOUBLEPOST]I always thought people who do it only do it for like "teenie" girls. For example, the majority of pewdiepies fan are girls and he's like the justin bieber of youtube for preteen girls to get more subs and views.

Nah, I'm pretty sure it's not only for the "teenie" girls, but because they want to do it XD
I thought the majority of pewdiepie's fans are like 12 year old boys according to teh internet

A good rule of thumb I got told during Drama school is that you should be able to captivate an audience with your voice. The voice guides your audience (especially online, when you might be commentating)
