Does camera gear really matter?

I honestly think that what matters the most is lighting and sound quality. Although watching a non HD video tends to be a bit difficult since we are now all used to watching crystal clear videos most of the time. But hey, you have to start with what you have! Barely anyone starts with professional equipment :)

Agreed, I tend to spend more time focusing on my audio and then when I finally shoot my video I am not always happy with the result because I always feel I can do a lot better.

I am going to definitely try and focus on each and every aspect before just pressing record.[DOUBLEPOST=1497775750,1497775610][/DOUBLEPOST]Thanks for all your replies guys, this has really been helpful and insightful as to what makes you click away from a video.

The thing is, you never really see someone with 50 000 subscribers who has bad video quality, audio, lighting and so on. So I have to up my game if I want to play with the big dogs :D
