Hey there, If you have a kinda Bad Microphone do the following : *While recording your Video be sure to keep a 5 sec silence and then speak whatever you want.
  1. Import your audio in Audacity
  2. Select the portion with silence
  3. Go to Effects
  4. Noise Reduction (In the latest version of Audacity)
  5. Click on select Noise Profile
  6. Now select the whole footage
  7. Go to Noise Reduction
  8. Make the Noise Reduction(db) between 14-20
  9. Make sure you have selected Reduce
  10. Click on Ok and then your Done!
  11. If you still hear background noise then Do the same steps again and make the Noise Reduction to 10
:woohoo!:You're Background Noise is now off !!

Thanks! :)

Yup, you can use Audacity to do that. It's what I'm going to use/have been using until I get my rode mic. I'm sure there are better programs for it, but Audacity is free and simple, so I'd say stick with that.

Its pretty flawless. It will remove just about any background noise (I sometimes have running pipes or people walking around upstairs that it removes). It can even do a pretty good job of mouse/keyboard clicks.
