So far I am trying both approaches. I have a few scripted videos. A few that I have thought up in my head then carefully repeated my thoughts piece by piece then cut into one solid video and 2 videos where I have just completely just talked freely without knowing what I was really going to say next.

All 3 have there positive and negative points.

Talking freely sounds more natural and pleasing to me when I hear it back. Like a real conversation. But it is so easy to miss a good point. I sometimes watch back and think "Oh I should have said this or that".

Scripting is good because you can get a nice balanced logical story going and not miss any points as you can go back and add new things.
My problem is Im not a good actor and when I am scripted I lose so much tone and emotion it sounds like im a monotone robot.

I really hate that,

YES, like, after almost every video of mine, (I go "all natural") I always end up wishing I said something else, I'm going to start doing scripts though soon, lol.

I never make scripts.
Not for my gaming videos, and not for my skit videos with Linda Starling :p

All my videos are scripted since they are programming tutorials. One bonus of scripting in advance is, it is VERY easy to update the subtitles.

That's actually a really great idea! I'll check out your channel to see how it looks when you do it like that :)

Depends the project, if I am writing my own stuff I always script it but if someone else has an Idea but wants a review, I make it up as I go.

Since English is my second language, a script is somewhat necessary for me :D If I see the words written down, then it's a lot easier to pronounce them. Also it helps to just keep on track with the subject and express it better. But I hope that with time I will start making videos without one.

Writing scripts can be good for not missing points, but I think it's more important to be natural than a perfectionist. People will appreciate someone treating them like friends, not an audience. Just my thought though
