I've also got a mixed feeling about this.. but I suppose I will go with what others recommend, be ready for any offensive campaign that their die-hard fans may throw at you, but just be extremely careful with what you do.
Here is a little suggestion though, as far as comments and a s**t storm of hate, I would disable all ratings on all the videos that you don't want others to touch, but also change comments from comments only after approval, this way the "trolls and haters" cannot damage your other videos except for that one particular video (then you could take that one down if it failed/doesn't seem to go as planned... and then over time after the trolls left then you could enable ratings and comments on all other videos again.) I hope this helps.
