You always hear on youtube that so and so did something first, or that so and so is copying someone. However do you ever get that you or someone else you follow sounds like someone else? So far on my videos I haven't gotten comments on it yet, but anytime I hop into a call with someone new they say I sound like Lilypichu. Not that this is a bad thing of course, I love her videos, but I do worry that later on if I get bigger I'll have people saying I'm trying to copy her when its my natural voice tendencies to go to her pitch at times lol.

So do you guys ever deal with that? How do you deal with it? Who do you sound like?

I had one comment saying I sound like salad fingers and another like amumu from LoL.

Not really like real people just like game/cartoon characters. So I just embrace it I guess haha~

Deal with it by telling them that it is your natural voice.. If they arent 11 years old and narrow minded, they'll just accept it... Sorted :)

I haven't been told that yet! I've been told I look like certain people, but voice-wise, nothin' so far.
If anyone wants to watch me and tell me otherwise, I'd be very interested! /wink.gif

Few days ago i've got a comment "Your voice is lame" so I don't have problems i guess ^^. If someone is going to say that you try to copy somebody voice-vise than let them think that. Hater are everywhere and somehow they are your "fans" becouse they alway spend time watching a part of your video and commenting.

ALL THE TIME. Okay no but really its actually very flattering.
I've had a lot of comments telling me I remind them of/sound like Emma Blackery, who is in fact, my favourite YouTuber so I'm down for this. (even if I'm not from Essex)
I wonder if sometimes its down to who I've been watching recently and who's speech pattern I'm more used to hearing :')

I don't speak on this channel often, and when I do it's disused behind voice acting cameos, but when I Skyped with someone they said I sounded like Markiplier. I've never really watched the guy but I'll take it as a good thing. Ha.

There is a specific type of "youtube voice" so I don't think it's necessarily bad to sound like someone.

That being said, I do music videos, and I would love if people said I sounded like anyone good ;)

The characters we put on the puppet videos are always being compared (voice wise) to a lot of anime/Pokemon characters I have no idea about, because I am old. :)
