Do you send Message to your Subscribers?

I'll go and personally thank them myself, but I don't think an automated message is bad either though. It just takes forever for me to see who the new subs are because analytics lag a lot.
That's true and there are hidden subscribers too.

I totally forgot about the hidden subs :( It makes me sad that I can't thank everyone in a timely manner or even at all...

The closest to automated messages will be the third party Tube Buddy add-on and it saves a template of your message which you can send to subscribers. I don't consider it as spam as it's to either welcome or update it but lots of times it goes into the spam section of the inbox.

I think the occasional mass message would be okay but then again, it's not a newsletter type thing since really they just come to see videos. Plus I don't know how many fans would see/read their youtube messages with all the other social media messages they're likely to get.

Not a fan of the automated message. If anything it reminds new subscribers that you don't have time (or choose not to spend it) to thank them personally. I'd either take the time to send them a thank you or not do anything.

There's nothing wrong with thanking somebody for subscribing but make an effort to personalize the message or at least change up the words. I did it for a long time and so did Olga Kaye
