Do you really need a intro ?

I find them really annoying, I used to use them but now I just don't bother. I say only use one if it's really good! :)

As others mentioned, it is optional. I personally don't use an intro because I like to get right into the topic. If anything, the intro should be short. I have seen a few videos where intros are like 20 seconds in the past. I clicked away half way through that intro. :giggle:

You don't need an intro but once you really get in the groove you might want to look into one, an intro is like the bread that holds the sandwich together (yeah lame I know but still) if you make great videos add the intro cherry on top and an outro as well

Big youtubrs have actually started using them. I think they do make videos look more cleaner and they also leave a lasting impression. For instance FreddieW Puts his Rocket Jump logo on his vids now. Not only does it look better but it also directs traffic to his website. Tobuscus has his name on the intro and his voice. Its catchy and memorable so if it gets stuck in your head everytime you get on youtube you may go to his channel more often because of it. Other youtubers have catch phrases as openings Destorm "Whats up world?" Toby games "hello once again audience" Philip DeFranco actually has a visual intro and a phrase " Sup Nation?"... It depends on how you brand your channel. anyone can have a intro no matter what kind of videos you have. You just have to see what kind would make sense to your audience.

Now with that being said there is a not so good way of doing intros. A example of this is BachelorsPadTv he has awesome skectches they get like 100 thousand views easy But there is a problem. He has only 17,000 Subs. I say its a problem because he is only converting like 6% of the viewers into subscribers. He used to have 49 second intros to a 2 min sketch. You see him drive up in a lambo to a mansion in a robe whith his name on the back King Bach you got females on both sides of him and runnin around through the mansion in lingerie while his theme music is playing and it ends on his logo. First how can anyone relate to this not that many people have lambos a mansion or that many women running around half naked unless you are Hugh Hefner. Then when thats over he opens with another intro before you even get to the actual comedy. Now hes on a couch with more half naked women and hes talking about the video hes about to show for another 40 sec and telling the the women to shutup when they talk. So now you just lost most of the female viewers because of that. I left the comment before on a video now I dont really see him using this intro that much anymore. Sorry I got long winded But long story short intros and outros are good if used effectivly to get people to subscribe or push traffic to your site.

I don't really like intros that much. It's fine if it only lasts about 5 seconds, but the real added value is negligible in my opinion.

I have made some intro, but it just a sketches and haven't use in my video yet. What do you think about the use of intro for the small channel like me?

I have an intro only because I film the stuff and some peopple get confused as to thinking that the people in the actual video own the content so the simple intro of 'ws.tv' I think makes people understand its a media channel and not me in the videos

I don't really like intros too much since some take like 8-10 seconds and my internet speed isn't too fast. That's why the video buffers before I actually see any of the content. And I know I'm not the only one with not so fast internet, so others might get irritated as well and move to another video. I used to make intros for my videos, but now I don't really bother.

I checked out your channel you said you have sketches but I saw alot of game play. Anyone can have an intro whether your a big channel or a small one. Just keep them short and to the point 6 seconds max if that. For gaming channels you dont really need a intro but if done right it will look nice. I see that at the beginning of every video you introduce yourself and say your channel name try to do this every time and say your intro the exact same way word for word. That is also considered a intro. Make a video with an intro and see how it looks then ask the opinions of others like us (not family because they usually say good things anyway).
Also since its a new channel you can do different intros until you find one you like. Hope this helped. :)[DOUBLEPOST=1367663772,1367663360][/DOUBLEPOST]

If you have slow internet speed I dont think it would matter if you have a intro or not your video is going to buffer anyway wouldnt it?
