Do you prefer short vlogs, or longer ones?

You may think you want my accent. You really don't
Title says it really.. Do you prefer to watch a vlog that is say, <2 minutes long, or a longer one that is >5 minutes long that explains everything in more detail?

I currently have one scheduled that is only 1.50 long, and I'm not sure if I should try and make my vlogs longer, or keep them between 2 and 3 minutes long

Even though the YouTube algorithm encourages you to make longer videos, a 10 minute vlog is incredibly boring unless it's a vlog from like Disneyland or something. I usually just cut stuff together for a video shorter than 2 minutes.

Yeah, I tend to do sit-down-and-talk vlogs most of the time, but I do have a walkaround vlog that's about 7 minutes long with a fairly low retention time

When it comes to vlogs, I don't watch them and don't subscribe to them. But, when I do, I tend to watch ONLY the ones less than or around 3 minutes(all of it if its interesting enough) because I'm one of those people that goes on YouTube and don't watch vlogs at all unless they have interesting titles and thumbnails when and if I do come across one.

If I was to ever watch vlogs regularly, my key time until I start doing stuff like skipping through would be about 5 minutes.

I do vlogs and I try to keep them shorter. My vlogs are normally 3-4 mins long. My longest is just under 6 min, but it has over 1K views, which is the most among my videos. So I think its more about the content of the vlog and if it can entertain and hold the viewer.

Yeah, keep them short. People who watch videos sometimes have a really short attention span and will click else where at the earliest opportunity when possible. I know some big vloggers do videos that can go on for sometimes up to half an hour or even longer but it's still best to keep it short! On the brightside, if you're videos are short and they enjoy them, they are more likely to click on your other videos quicker which will give you more views and your analytics will look slightly more prettier!

I do not mind how long the vlog is if it's interesting.

If you keep the content interesting and engaging enough, I think length can be fairly irrelevant. If the content you create only has enough to fill two minutes, make it two minutes. If it's super entertaining and 10 minutes, make it 10 minutes. You can always check your analytics to see where people start tapering off and figure out what it was that made them click away to avoid that in the future.

I do generally agree that shorter vlogs are usually best but don't limit yourself either if you feel like the topic is something you really want to dissect. Also, if it's a topic you're really passionate about, you can always do your quick take on it first and then at a later point do a vlog kind of going all out going really in depth into the subject and you can always link the two vlogs to each other too.
