Do you need to join YouTube parnters to earn?

Hello everyone

Today I've read a lot about monetization and about Youtube partners on the forum and on google, but I still have one question unanswered, maybe you could help me with that.

So you have some YouTube parnters like fullscreen and some others, but do I really have to join them to earn money?

What about YouTube itself? If you go to the channel and you go to monetization settings you can enable monetization for your channel, isn't it then automatically enabled and the monetization happening for you? And you earn money already? - why do I need then those third party partners? - Or are those partners to gain some extra revenue for the videos?

I don't fully understand it, if anyone can explain, I would really appreciate.
 
You don't need to go through a partnership network (Fullscreen, Machinima etc) in order to earn money from your videos, enabling monetization will have the same effects (ads etc) on your videos as a partnership network will give you.

The only difference being you won't get access to any special perks that members of a network might, such as an audio library and guerilla campaigns etc.
 
Oh I see, so basically it is the same ... and I have to choose one of them ...

So if I'm going to join external YouTube Partner like fullscreen or machinam etc ... i don't have to enable monetization on the channel itself?
Can I join 2 Partners? How will they determine that I already have a patner?

You can only join one network, once partnered every other network you apply for during your contractual period will see that you're already partnered with _______.
 
But do i have to enable monetizing on the settings page of the youtube channel or not?

yes you need to enable it, just a few click, if you are going to associate with google, u need to link it to your adsense account, if you going to partner with other network, just go to their official page and apply
