Do you hold your channel back from the world?

I get really nervous about the content on my channel. Most of it is laughed off as being funny and I breathe a sigh of relief, but then I get worried about some of the innuendos. I tend to hide it from anyone but people I've known from before my YouTube days.
 
I share it on my facebook, no holds barred. I don't spam them, I just share every new video from our facebook page.
 
I told 1 of my close friends. He kept it secret and told no-one else for 1 year. Then another friend found out 1 year after I started and within 24 hours of him knowing, every single one of my friends knew about it (about 15 people). Nobody minded or anything but he annoyed me by how fast he could spread the word.

I haven't told any of my family members and I find it annoying to film cause I still live with my family. I have to wait until all of them are out of the house for the day and then I record something. Stupidly, I know none of them would mind but I still cant find a way to tell them. :confused:

Some of my old colleagues found out from 1 of my friends who knew, but I left the job a few weeks before so I don't know how many of them found out! Now I'm paranoid :D

For most of my coworkers, I hide my videos on facebook (until I leave the job, then all bets are off). But I went for it today and told him about my channel. The sooner I get to leave the better, but it just feels good to talk about your channel to people in person and I'd like to know how many of you do it on a regular basis.

most of my friends know about my channel, but only a few watch my videos. One of my friends likes to broadcast it in class by writing my channel name on the board and shouting about it, which is a bit embarrassing, but I guess I should get used to it.
 
Most of my friends knows that I have a YouTube channel because I share them through social media; then some their friends gets to know me too who also has a YouTube account and makes videos. And some of them are the ones who subscribed to me and sometimes like my videos. :happy:
