Do you guys go back and change old thumbnails?

Hey guys, so over time, you get better at thumbnails no doubt. Do any of you think it is worth it to go back to your much older thumbnails and update them? I could say that would help out newer viewers, but at the same time it is kind of cool to see those old ones and see how you evolved. What do you guys think?

I just did this and everyone has said I should go back to the old ones and andaoasmdasodhassofjasoasdoasdmasod

It's good if you have gotten better at them honestly, just be ready for some backlash if you have a fanbase.

I'd not bother changing the old ones I know they aren't great but it's almost like a obvious journey from where you started to where you are now kinda thing besides if they are old videos I doubt that the quality of the content is worth the new thumbnail and I doubt a change of thumbnail would bring in the views for a 5 month old video lol

Nope, never. It's probably a personal preference thing, but I like to see the progress I've made with my thumbnails (as well as my videos themselves). So, the more they have improved over the months and stuff. I think it's nice to be able to look back at it.

Yeah I agree with you guys. I think I'll leave them because it's sort of like a progression that is very cool to watch.

Normally not however one video we had was part of a series and I changed that one to bring it in line with the rest :)

I personally change them to give them a more modern look and keep them up to date. Whenever I see a channel, that updates their thumbnails to keep up with the times, I appreciate the fact that they are putting in the extra effort so I try and do the same :). I only do this with thumbnails I'm really not satisfied with though and have a new idea for it that is bursting from my brain haha

No, I dont update old ones. I keep them as some kind of memory how I evolved :) Plus I am lazy to change them anyway ... :D

Nope, I keep everything the way it is, I might go back and update some tags, but apart from that an old video stays the way it is.

There are many top Youtubers who've claimed a massive jump in their views and subscribers just by updating all their old thumbnails. If there's any decent amount of views in them, and they rank decently in search, then I would highly suggest you consider improving them.
