Do You Ever Feel Like Quitting YouTube?

So, do you?
What's keeps you motivated to keep going forward and making videos? Does your channel feel like it is going nowhere and you just want to tap out? My channel is not growing fast and I'm not getting a ton of views but I enjoy it. Not the part of not growing fast, but the part about making videos.
Even if my subscriber base stays the same, I just enjoy what I do and pleasing the few subscribers I have. And no, I may never do this as a full time job(I would like to), but the time I devote to YouTube, I give it 110%.

So what motivates you to keep going?

I've never wanted to give up, ever, but I have had notions of starting over, from scratch, but I thought I would give it my all one more time, :). but I can feel where you're from, it's not easy and can be disheartening.
why do I keep going? because it's my creative outlet, :) plus it is ultimately fun.

I've lost interest in my channel a while back and failed to upload for an extended period of time. I stay motivated because as long as someone appreciates my videos, it's worth it to me.

It has been times that I have thought about, but then I realised that it motivates me to go out into the world and explore! It helps me see what kinds of places I have been to and what I have been doing!
It has only been recently that I have noticed some growth, which motivates me more!

Have you ever heard of a person quited his/hers hobby?

the more you go into it the more you like it!

eh, speaking of hobbies

not "I want to get rich and famous overnight" kind of situations...

:)

I have thought about stopping just to focus on some things in my life. As of know improving my content is my priority but that means I have to push other things to the side. I enjoy making videos and It's always good to see people (even if it's only a small amount) watch the videos I make. If I ever do stop it's because of other things in life becoming the priority. My motivation comes from watching other YouTubers that I enjoy and wanted to have the same effect on other people.

well i sulked for 3 months and made nothing when youtube changed the 10,000 view requirement to 4000hours & 1000 subs just days before i hit target. I think they should have more mini target inbetween for us to aim for as like a play way of moving forward and feeling some attainment. Although they did send me an unexpected notification congratulations on getting my first 100 likes on a video today. I wander what other hidden treasures I don't know about.

Don you need to capitalise on your Gear 360 video which was your most successful upload. Consider making more content similar to that one with samey tags, description. etc. Maybe even the same review 6 months on.. to say how the product has lived up to expectations etc.

Not quitting usually, but there are plenty of things to be discouraged about sometimes. For me after 4 years of making content it's often a feeling that my interests have drifted away from the exact content that I currently make.

I always like the content creation but sometimes how invested I am in a specific topic can go up and down like a rollercoaster. It's in these moments where it can be very easy to look at other types of channels and get jealous about the type of content they get to create, when in reality some of them feel the same way about other channels too and want to just be a vlogger for a day or a gaming channel for a day. Sometimes I have to just understand that the situation will never be exactly perfect to my interests at every given moment and I have to stay focused on my area of success.

I stay motivated because I've seen that I can make content that even just a few people liked and if I could do it a bunch of times I know that I can do it a bunch more times so why quit and waste all that cool content I could create.

I nearly quit in end 2016 / beginning 2017. I was p****d off, after putting in so many hours and so much effort to still be a small fry. I posted it on my social media saying I was quitting. And then someone came forward and wanted me to review their GTR. The rest is history. I purely do it as a hobby now and never looked back.
