Do you consider YouTube a Job or a hobby?

It's gone way beyond hobby for us, but the word "job" just sounds like no fun at all. I'll say it's a compensated pastime.

it could go either way to be honest i consider it a job and a hobby bc i enjoy but sometime it can take a lot of your time

What's the difference? its not my sole income, its not my biggest income, but i spend more than 95% of my time every day doing it, so does that make it a Job? it definitely would be a hobby of mine if i couldn't earn from it

It's a job hobby for me, a Jobby if you will. Sure I only made $0.08 this year but that totally counts. I am hoping to get a packet of noodles as a treat next quarter.

I was thinking the same exact thing! If I end up making stuff for youtube on my own channel I would call it a hobby, even if it were to somehow generate enough money to replace traditional employment I don't think I would ever want to call it a job. To me the word "job" refers to the type of employment where you're hired by and work for a third party and while there are hundreds of channels that come from the likes of established networks or entities starting a youtube channel of your own as a content creator is more akin to that of starting your own business because it's something you develop yourself. Like a job, it takes long hours, hard work, and dedication to create a successful youtube channel but if one is lucky enough to get to that point I think it would be more of a calling or a career more than anything else.
