Do you actually feel as if you're part of the Youtube community?

I personally don't feel like i am a part of any YouTube Community other than the community that i have created with my subs who are basically my family. However i've just started out on this journey and have no clue of where it will end and how i would feel lets say, 2 years down the road but as to now, YouTube is just a HUGE open space to me.[DOUBLEPOST=1515027977,1515026645][/DOUBLEPOST]
One thing I notice is that there is something incredibly humbling about not being featured on Youtube Rewind. They have cons with Youtubers now, and if you go you'd be considered just another con-goer and not one of the 'creators'. Do you even feel as if you're part of the so-called Youtube Community? It just hit me that the Youtube Rewind videos are almost alienating, with only a handful of people we even know or have heard of. It almost feels as if Youtube is some other major streaming service for the top guns and all we're doing are just randomly uploading our personal home movies on some random no-name video archive. I mean I honestly can't believe I'm uploading videos on the same site where Markiplier and MatPat upload their own. I feel as if I should just call myself a Youtube user and not an actual creator or even a Youtuber. I don't know, sometimes I feel I'm acting in a school play while Pewds is starring in a blockbuster movie.

It's odd, like I don't want fame cause the last thing I'd ever want are stalkers and fake scandals and whatnot, but if I ever do quit Youtube, I kinda liked to be remembered as one of the guys there. Or if Youtube ever goes down, I'd like whatever news station reporting it to mention me among the others that were big there. I know Youtube is a vast place, but man, it really does make one feel small. Who would honestly give a crap if any of us small channels suddenly quit? And if noone remembers or cares, is it even worth continuing?
I feel you bro! I've never watched YouTube from that perspective however, I totally understand what you're saying and why you feel this way.

I feel I am in a small way. I've talked to a few larger successful youtubers and they've been generous enough to give me info and helping tips along the way. I've put most of all of that to use in the branding and marketing of my channel. Hopefully some day it will all pay off.

No, I don't feel apart of the YouTube community as a whole, but I'd like to think I have my own little community. My own little, ever expanding, MikeSchimm community. And really, that's all I want or need. I don't need to be accepted by the higher ups, they can do whatever they want, I'm just gonna continue growing, building, and focusing on MY OWN community. Besides, hopefully YouTube will only be a stepping stone to greater and bigger film-making in my future.
