Do videos with multiple ads harm watch time?

I am nowhere close to monetizing my channel, but I am curious.

I can see how longer videos would have greater watch time than shorter videos, but do multiple ads on a longer video (10 minutes or greater) harm the watch time much? If so, is it noticeable?

I feel like it could harm a smaller channel and it will cause viewers to just click away vs a bigger channel who puts lots of ads on their videos because they know their fans will still watch no matter what.

Personally I have clicked away from a video if there’s more than one ad or the ad is really long. I think it depends a lot on the length and quality of the video though. I definitely have watched tutorial videos that greatly exceed 10 minutes and I can understand those having ads more than once.

It might throw people off, but if they like the video, they´re going to watch the video no matter what.
I´m also no where near the monetisation process, and it will take a long time for me to get it. But hopefully someday!

TBH i let ads run in small videos. In longer i just press x and close them. But i do not run away from a video because of ads. It is the last factor that drive me away.
